Our volunteers play a huge role in keeping the shelter open!  Everything from

_______Dog Interaction (walking, petting, brushing, socializing, cleaning)
_______Cat Interaction (cleaning, brushing, socializing) 
_______Clerical Work (one or more: mailings, typing, bookwork, phones, filing, thank you cards etc.)
_______ Fundraising – help organize and/or help during events.
_______Maintenance (one or more: housekeeping chores, window washing, mend fencing, painting, basic repairs)

_______ Check in desk, answering the phones.

You can download the application, fill it out, email, mail or return it in person!   Even 30 minutes a week makes a difference to the pets in our shelter!

Riverside Rescue apprieciates volunteers and has a variety of task that need to be completed daily.   

How do I become a volunteer?

To become a volunteer, please download and fill out our volunteer application form. Return it to us via email or drop it off during business hours.  We welcome individuals with various skills and availability. Once we have your application, a team member will reach out to discuss opportunities. 

Are there age restrictions to volunteer?

Currently all volunteers have to be 16 years of age or older to be able to volunteer without a legal guardian supervising them at the shelter.  Volunteers 15 and under will be limited to what they can do at the shelter for safety reasons and must have a legal guardian with them at all times.  Unfortunatly we do not make these rules so we can not change them.

Why Volunteer?

The shelter is a very stressful situation for some pets, so interaction with people by petting, walking, cuddling or just going for a day out is very helpful to keeping them happy.
